“Ohi captures the complexity of emotions inherent in relationships…She does this with such sensitivity that her stories never feel moralistic or pedantic. Highly recommended.”
"... is a perfect read for preschoolers who can learn from Chicken and Horse how to be better friends."(Highly Recommended: Claire Perrin is a teacher-librarian with the Toronto District School Board in Toronto, ON.)
It was always Chicken, Pig and Cow. Then one day it wasn't. There was also Horse.
Chicken, Pig and Cow do everything together. So when Horse arrives, not everyone is pleased. Even though Pig decides Horse is clever, and Cow thinks he's strong, Chicken thinks Horse just takes up space. But when Chicken plays a trick on Horse that goes wrong, the animals realize that the more friends they have to pitch in to help, the better.
Praise for "Chicken, Pig, Cow On the Move":
“…plenty of scope for expressive drawings, brightened with cheerful watercolor washes.”
School Library Journal:
“The gentle story will reassure readers that they can explore the world and return home again."
The Globe and Mail:
“The second book in what will, we hope, become a series…is a tender tale for the very small told via generous amounts of vibrant watercolour daubed over double pages and a perfect economy of words.”
“Here’s hoping their next adventure is just as lovable and sparks just as many musings about the secret lives of toys and pets.”
